Enhanced Services - Residential Specialist

Position Title: Residential Specialist/Enhanced Services
There are two shifts available: (1) Full Time evening Monday 3:00pm-8:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday 3:00pm-11:00 pm. (1) Weekend Days every Saturday & Sunday 9:00 am-9:00 pm.
General Description:
The Residential Specialist implements individual's service plans by providing intensive direct psychiatric rehabilitation services and skills training to individuals recovering from mental illness and may include co-occurring disorders. The Residential Specialist works with residents in their homes and the community by providing the support to assist residents in developing the skills necessary for independence and success. This person reports to the Residential Coordinator or the Residential Weekend Supervisor.
Required Education, Knowledge and Skill Abilities to Perform Essential Job Functions:
An AA degree with at least three years experience in human service direct care required. The ability to respect individual choice in the recovery process and a commitment to recovery through the psychiatric rehabilitation process is essential. Ability to provide person-centered care recognizing the strengths and limitations of the residents is required. Crisis Management skills are required, and experience with Co-occurring Disorders is a plus. Ability to work as a part of a team is essential. Strong verbal communication skills required. A clean driving record is necessary.
Summary of Essential Functions, Responsibilities and Duties
Assist residents with implementing Individual Service Plans to reach goals
Work with each resident to assess readiness for greater levels of self-sufficiency and independence
Provide feedback of each resident's progress to Individual Service Team
Facilitate group and individual activities
Provide transportation to assist residents in using community resources
Document activities and services in log book, service forms, incident reports and progress notes in a timely manner
Assist residents with independent living skills
Communicate with supervisors and other employees to ensure continuum of service
Provide residential program coverage
Perform medication monitoring
Engage in crisis management
Assist with and/or clean individual's homes as needed
Confirm all medication cabinets are empty each day and correct medications are available at the homes
Utilize Electronic Health Record to record services and documentation
Use the Time and Attendance system to clock in and out for every shift worked and verify your time on the last day worked of the pay cycle.
Perform other duties as assigned by shift leader and/or supervisor

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
